Legend

We are so excited to announce the next chapter in our program… LEGEND!

DIMENSIONS GOT STYLE
AQHA + APHA + PHBA

This is a son of the GREAT, Invested Dimension (Reserve World Champion)
Out of She’s A Golden Zippos.

A little history to show how sentimental this great stallion is to me personally and will be to the equine industry.

Legend is by my great stallion, Invested Dimension who was sound his whole life and even right before he passed away - he moved good enough to show and win at the world today. He comes from a line of incredible show horses that live long and stay sound their whole lives. Dimensions was by one of the greatest stallions of all time, The Investor - who was a sire that impacted and changed our industry today.

Legend is out of, Shes A Golden Zippo aka Teddy who lived to be 27 years old. Sound and healthy! She was a 16 hand, beautiful palomino mare. She and Invested Dimensions produced (full siblings to Legend) many double, triple and quadruple registered horses (AQHA, APHA, PBHA, PtHA) who became World and Reserve Champions. Teddy is out of Dana’s incredible show mare, Osa Gold aka Osa. Osa took the extremely deep and tough A Circuit by storm, winning everywhere she went. She was a superstar and famous in her day. She also lived long and was sound until the day she died.

Teddy is by Zip My Zipper (AQHA Reserve World Champion 2 Year Old Western Pleasure). He also was a great horse!

Osa Gold’s mother, Gilda Gumdrops was a palomino mare who lived into her 30’s sound and healthy with a HUGE show record in the A Open Shows.

Legend is the kindest, quietest stallion that moves with style and grace like his Daddy had. He floats over the ground. He is a 10+ loper and a true, cadenced one-two jogger. He has the golden palomino color that is so sought after and rare. He has a paint marking that we are hoping and praying gets accepted, which will make him triple registered.

He stands at 15.1 hands with a phenomenal confirmation.

I believe strongly that his incredible genotype and phenotype will absolutely stamp his babies with the characters that all of us want. Kindess, beauty, soundness, good legs and feet. Gaits that are smooth as glass to sit. A trainable temperament and mind. The size and confirmation needed to breed to a lot of different mares, and types of mares. He will produce world champion pleasure horses, trail horses, all-around horses, even ranch riding and working event horses making him the ultimate versatile stallion to breed to. He has a charisma that stops people everywhere he goes.

Breed now for your World Champion!

Invested Dimension gave me the ride of my life. He has produced some of the greatest babies I have seen.

Legend’s Heritage

Legend came from a line of great individuals. As well as horses that have shaped my whole career.
On the bottom side of his pedigree, Legend’s mom was a beautiful palomino mare that we called, “Teddy”. Teddy was 16 hands, high withered, baby doll headed and a great mare. She had excess white and her and Invested Dimension produced quite often double and triple registered horses. Lots of cool white markings. Teddy died in 2022 at 28 years of age, sound and healthy. Her mother was a mare named, Osa Gold or as we called her, “Osa”. Osa was my first show horse. I bought her as a coming two year old. Osa was a beautiful palomino mare that I showed back in the day when palominos were discriminated against in the late 1970s. But Osa Gold changed history. That gorgeous “yellow” mare won everywhere she went. I showed her on the ultra tough “A” Open Circuit and she literally took the world by storm. She won circuit awards at the prestigious National Date Festival in Santa Barbara and Del Mar Nations, Cow Palace in San Francisco. She won maturities and Pacific Year End Awards. Those open shows at that level were way heftier competition than the AQHA shows in that era. We broke out into our first Big AQHA Show, The West Coast Circuit, I showed her in the lady’s to ride class with close to 50 in it and won every time. No one had seen her and she was a superstar everywhere she went. I was bombarded with people try to buy “Osa”. Blank checks were offered to me!
The momentum and excitement that surrounded that mare was phenomenal. Osa finished her life in old age, sound and healthy. Her mother was a great mare named, Gilda Gumdrops aka “Gilda”. Gilda was owned and Osa was bred by The Wexler Family. They owned Mr Gun Smoke at one time. I bought Gilda from them also and she lived as a great family horse into her 30’s. Sound and healthy!! You noticed I say sound and healthy a lot to describe these horses That’s what we ought to be breeding for folks. We want to improve the breed and breed horses that last.
Teddy’s father was a beautiful bay stallion that was Reserve World Champion in the Two Year Old Western Pleasure with Todd Summers. He was by, Flashy Zipper; out of the great mare, Ted Rosebud. Another great maternal line which has been proven to produce well down. Tes Rosebud was out of the great, Bonanzas Rosy.

Together Zipped My Zipper and Osa Gold produced Legend’s mother. The great Shesa Golden Zippo. Full of great history, great heritage and wonderful horses (that lasted)!!

A wonderful maternal line to pass on through Legend!!

Legend’s father is the great, Invested Dimension.

Invested Dimension aka “Dimension” is an own son of The Investor. I will boldly say the best son or one of best sons…

He was piloted to a Reserve World Champion in the Western Pleasure, ridden by a woman, Dana Hokana in a “mans arena” in that era. As Osa broke all molds, so did Invested Dimension. Greatness speaks for itself, the cream rises to the top as my mother said. Invested Dimensions was a SUPER STAR. One of the greatest movers you have ever seen. He lived his life and died sound and healthy at 28 years old. Producing many World and Reserve World Champions to carry on his line.

Legend speaks well for his father.

OUTCROSS

Dimensions In Style or “Legend” has something also to be desire.
Legend is an outcross.
We are seeing that many of our current day horses are double and triple bred in certain family lines.

It is always good to breed to an outcross when your genetic line is very infused with the same bloodlines. Outcrossing creates unrelated genetic lines into a breeding line. Increasing genetic diversity can have many benefits. To the breeding line and the breed as a whole. Some of the genetic bloodline that Legend has will improve what you have!

GENOTYPE VS PHENOTYPE

🏆🏆BREEDING PRINCIPLES 🏆🏆

You as the mare owner must know this!!

There is a important genetic principal of phenotype and genotype!

When you breed horses and you pick a pretty stallion, and you see his characteristics, all of his observable characteristics are the horses phenotypes. The horses genotype are the set of genes that the horse carries. This is what defines the gene pool and what will determine what it produces!

How fascinating this is!

We hope and often it carries out that the strong characteristics the horse has, such as an extremely beautiful head, will also hold a strong genotype in the horses breeding pattern.

So the win in the show pen may or may not give you a baby with that ability!

A great breeding man who was apart of so many great stallions, that are the main sires in todays genetics,  told me years ago that he felt that a super strong physical characteristic, very evident to the eye, should produce.  He loved Invested Dimension! He said his extremely beautiful head, and beautiful conformation, and his freaky beautiful soft lope and jog should produce.  And it did!!!!!

🏆🏆 He produced many super stars ⭐️ and World and Reserve World Champions! Invested Dimension has passed away, but this leads to the main reason why I always held Legend back to be my next breeding stallion. Oh my, I turned down huge offers for him. But Legend, or Dimensions Got Style has those strong phenotype characteristics as well as an impeccable pedigree. He has an extremely beautiful head and a spectacularly gorgeous lope and beautiful floaty jog and an unusually docile personality for a stallion!! This stallion has extreme characteristics on the positive side. HE WILL PRODUCE!! 🏆⭐️🏆And he has in his first baby. 👏🏻

So when you see a great or famous stallion, what do you love?? What is soooo exceptional that you are wooed, that you are in love with?? Those strong phenotype characteristics should produce... Not to be critical or unkind, but when I see a head that is attractive but not beautiful or a small eye that is set high on the head. Or a high hock or a bad set to the hock or another trait that is just average, or less than average, I am really hesitant about wanting to breed to that stallion. I better love something about him. Because who knows what you will be looking at every day in your baby. Be critical folks. It’s not just about a win in the show pen or if you see that a big name is riding him. What is the “truth” or the genotype in that stallion. All that glitters is not gold and there are a lot of wins because a famous person was on the horse and they were the best of the day. Sometimes the best of the worst. And sometimes people will go to a small show, or a big show that had almost no entries, and get a “win” promote that all over and that gave it that license to produce. I don’t buy that. And we all should be better horseman and horsewomen to look objectively at that horse and truly decide if it’s worthy to breed to.

When something “POPS” in the phenotype, because it is so distinctive and good, it will likely “Breed”!  So look at the stallion you are breeding to! Does something “POP” that you love or not?

We can't wait for the future 2024 babies to hit the ground for Legend and we are also excited to see all the mares that he will breed.

We are proud to share this exceptional stallion with the public.

We believe HE IS WHAT THIS INDUSTRY NEEDS!
